Climate, Coffee and Conversation Series
ReMain Nantucket’s Envision Resilience Nantucket Challenge team is kicking off “Climate, Coffee and Conversation”—a series of roundtable events held this fall at the Envision Resilience: Designs for Living with Rising Seas exhibition at the Thomas Macy Warehouse located on 12 Straight Wharf. The series kicks off with:
“Resilience in Landscapes”
Join them for the very first roundtable, “Climate, Coffee and Conversation: Resilience in Landscapes” featuring ERNC advisors Jennifer Karberg, PhD of Nantucket Conservation Foundation, Sarah T. Bois, PhD of Linda Loring Nature Foundation and Emily Molden of Nantucket Land Council. The conversation will explore how these three local experts see the impacts of climate change on the island of Nantucket, from our coastlines and harbors to freshwater ponds and wetlands, to our grasslands and forests. They’ll discuss the various ways protecting open space has great value in mitigating climate change and explore how each of their organizations work toward promoting education and awareness around the importance of open space: both large-scale and small-scale on private and public properties.
We’ll see you there!
